Château Marsyas
The Saadé family is deeply rooted in the Laodicea region (contemporary Lattakia - Syria), Tripoli (Lebanon) and the area of Mount Lebanon. Its history dates back to the 18th and 19th centuries. The family was then active in commodities trading, transport and maritime industry.
So it is no coincidence that the current generation, father Johnny Saadé with his two sons Karim and Sandro, have the entrepreneurship of their ancestors in their blood and thus made a dream come true for years: to make groundbreaking wine in the Lebanese Bekaa valley. On 65 hectares of land, around 900 metres above sea level, clay and limestone - under ideal conditions - grow their grapes from Syrah, Cabernet-Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot for red and Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay for white. Harvesting takes place between the end of August and the end of September.
